I have been running public speaking training for our Head Office staff: Sam (top, Fundraising). Jeff (middle, Finance); and Gemma (bottom, Media).Having prepared one-minute speeches, we took a bus up to Speakers' Corner to deliver them to mildly bewildered passers-by in Hyde Park. Previous speakers at this historic location include Karl Marx!
Gemma spoke in praise of singing, Sam told us that bicycles can change the world and Jeff offered a panegyric to his inspirational history teacher.
Being in this location was strangely liberating: 'It seemed paradoxical' Jeff commented, 'but being so far out of my comfort zone actually dispelled any sense of nervousness I might have had.'
