Alan Milburn's Speech

Alan Milburn has made an important speech about his new role as 'Social Mobility Tsar'. He points out what we have long felt: that there needs to be a clear policy focus to the approach to Social Mobility. We argued in our submission to Alan Milburn's Panel on Fair Access that widening access to HE should be at the centre of policy making, so we were very pleased to read in Alan Milburn's speech that he 'will be examining what universities are doing to ensure fair access and what more they could do.' He will report in the autumn.
