Meeting Danny Boyle - Guest blog by Mahbuba, Year 8, IU Bow

On Saturday 7th December IntoUniversity Bow arranged a trip to the Winter Shuffle Festival in Mile End. This is a community festival which aims to bring people together in and around East London.

Some very lucky mentoring pairs, including me, were invited to meet a famous director Danny Boyle and to watch his family film ‘Millions’. The movie is about 2 children who find a million pounds and the way in which they spend it. My favourite part was when one brother got his fellow classmates to do things for them when they could do it themselves. The movie had a very good moral as it explored the value of money within family life.

After the movie, Danny Boyle conducted a ‘question and answer’ session, in which we got to ask questions and listen to Danny talk about his recent films and being a director. At the very end we were very lucky to have a picture taken with Danny Boyle and got his signature.

It was a fantastic movie and a brilliant experience for all of us and all the IntoUniversity staff, students and mentors had a great time and a wonderful experience.
