A Little Reminder

Gemma Fagbadegun

Charity work can be tiring, exhausting and frustrating at times.
Our jobs, just like yours, have their highs and lows, whether we’re Education Workers, delivering our programme to young people at local centres or employed in the Head Office, doing our best to secure funding in a terrible economic climate.

But we’re always brought back down to earth by little reminders of why we’re here, and why we do
what we do. This letter was written to the delivery team at our IntoUniversity Bow centre in Tower Hamlets. The sender was a Year 6 student from a nearby school, who had taken part in his first IntoUniversity FOCUS Week, on the topic of ‘Shakespeare’. The weeks are designed to inspire a love of learning; this one included a ‘Rapspeare’ workshop and an interactive quiz on Macbeth at the Tower of London, and ended with a celebration of achievement and a ‘graduation’ in caps and gowns at Imperial College London.

It was one of many lovely letters from students in the class. The Bow team were delighted about the impact that they had clearly had, and we wanted to share this with you. We hope it brightens your day too.

Thank you letter
